Access to Quality Health Services
A special project was contracted to the GRF by the Management Sciences for Health to assist the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the implementation of the National Health Insurance of the Philippines- “Medicare Para sa Masa” Program in the Province of Capiz in 1999-2000. GRF was tasked to ensure the smooth implementation of means testing to prospective indigent members. This project resulted to the identification of the initial 7,728 indigents as qualified members of the “Medicare Para Sa Masa Program.”
All these health programs were made possible, well-managed and well-implemented through the collective effort of the Foundation and the Province. For the past ten years, this harmonious working relationship has proven to be a most effective and unique strategy for Health programs.
