Major Accomplishments

With the support of local government officials, the BJSS accomplished the following breakthroughs in improving access to justice by the poor:

1. Completed implementation of the BJSS project in 1,707 barangays

2. Mobilized and trained 7,183 Barangay Justice Advocates (BJA) as service providers for justice and peace.

3. Mainstreamed the BJAs and the BJSS model in the Katarungang Pambarangay for speedy and cost-efficient dispute resolution.
4. Contributed in reducing cases brought to court.
5. Developed mechanisms on mainstreaming and sustaining BJAs.
6. Forged linkages with the DILG-ARMM and the Commission on Human Rights for BJSS sustainability.
7. Developed a monitoring system for fast and efficient monitoring of conflict resolution and project activities in the region.
8. Established a linkage with the DILG ARMM for the implementation of the BJSS documentation and monitoring process in the KP system and appointment of BJAs as members of the Lupon Tagapamayapa.
