“Ngayon man o sa 2010, dapat isaalang-alang kung ano ang tama para sa bayan. Handa akong harapin ang anumang puna tungkol sa isyu na ito.
“Pinag-aralan ko nang mabuti ang agreement at pinakinggan ko ang pananaw ng bawat sektor. Para sa akin, mahirap mawala ang ating ekonomiya sa radar ng Japan na isa sa pinaka-moderno at mayaman na bansa di lang sa Asya kundi sa buong mundo. Mahirap maghabol kapag naiwanan tayo ng agos ng global trade.
“Ang mahalaga, ang una ay ang constitutionality ng agreement,na titiyakin naman ni Sen. Santiago; at pangalawa ay ang kapasidad ng pamahalaan na tulungan ang mga apektadong sektor, at ito naman ay tututukan ng aking komite sa Senado.”
